Motor Power Company

case studies

business case

Motor Power Company specialises in the design and development of high-performance industrial motion solutions.

The consolidated expertise and technical know-how with all kinds of applications and the continuous and incessant research and development work, allow Motor Power Company to interact with the main international companies seeking automation and motion control.

Motor Power gearboxes, gearmotors, servo motors, drives and controls are the result of a production concept unique to Motor Power factories, based on the constant supervision of every production phase, from design to delivery, by highly experienced personnel.

Motor Power Company has adopted Microsoft Dynamics AX2012 as an ERP for its companies.

The choice, made after a selection with other ERPs, fell on Microsoft because it allows the management of multicompany and multisite production, by guaranteeing the exchange of information between the various production plants in Italy and those in China.

The objective of the project included the complete management of all the complex processes of a multisite manufacturing company, such as the supply chain management, production planning and control, up to the final shipment to the customer.

The further development of the project now involves the roll-out within the plant in China and the evolution towards the Dynamics 365 CRM platform.

The benefits obtained within the first project phase have been:

  • Direct link between Production Order and Sales Order (and vice versa) for immediate and simple query by the Customer Service on the production status
  • Single Production Order with consequent simplification and efficiency in the activities of control, progress and closure of the order
  • Immediate view of missing items for each phase
  • Interrogation of productive capacities both with finite capacity scheduling and not
  • Automatic WIP system management (in terms of values and quantities)
  • Possibility of introducing field systems (tablets, stations, barcodes) for the progress of production processes (paper elimination)
  • Consolidation of Lean Manufacturing logics
